The Modern Table was born from Chef Elena Ramirez's belief that the best meals begin in the soil, not the kitchen. After a decade in Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe, Elena returned to San Francisco in 2018 to build a restaurant that honors the farmers and artisans behind every ingredient.
Our menu changes weekly, shaped by what's ripening at our partner farms in Marin County, Sonoma, and the Central Valley. Every dish traces its story from seed to plate, and our servers are trained to share that journey with you.
Three ways to gather at The Modern Table
A seven-course journey through the week's finest harvest. Each course paired with wines from small California producers. Wednesday through Saturday, $135 per person.
Relaxed Saturday and Sunday brunch featuring house-baked pastries, farm eggs, seasonal frittatas, and craft cocktails. Walk-ins welcome from 10am to 2pm.
Our garden dining room seats up to 24 guests for intimate celebrations, corporate dinners, and milestone events. Custom menus designed with Chef Elena.
The tasting menu at The Modern Table was the most memorable dining experience of our anniversary trip. Each course told a story, and our server knew every farm by name. The roasted beet course was transcendent.
As a chef myself, I'm incredibly particular about farm-to-table claims. The Modern Table is the real thing. Every ingredient is traceable, the preparations are inventive without being pretentious.
We hosted our rehearsal dinner in the garden dining room and it was magical. Chef Elena created a custom menu reflecting our families' culinary traditions with local ingredients.
Tasting menu reservations recommended 2 weeks in advance. Brunch is walk-in only.
